“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.”-John 15:16
Have you ever felt unloved or rejected? I know I have, and I also know that Jesus has too. He was rejected by the world, betrayed by one of His closest friends, and even God turned His face away from Jesus. I can’t begin to imagine the sorrow that Jesus had to endure. But Jesus endured all of that suffering for each and every one of us. He went through betrayal, rejection and death so that He could choose you and be in relationship with you!
Isn’t that amazing! God chose you! He wants you and He longs for a relationship with you. God not only loves you but He likes you, and He enjoys you! He enjoys hearing about all of the things in your life, the good and the bad.
But God didn’t choose you for no reason. He chose you so that you would live in Him. He chose you so that you would walk every day side-by-side Jesus! I encourage you to ask God, “What do you want me to do today?” Wait patiently on God’s voice. Sometimes when I ask God this question a person will come to mind so I’ll pray for them or check up on them! It’s really that simple!
Prayer
Dear God, thank you that you chose me, that you desire relationship with me and that you love me. You are a good Father. Help me to spread your love to others today. Amen.
